The short version
We built Tovi as parents, so we keep the data light: the profile you set up — a first name, an age band, and a pronoun — plus the stories you make. That's it. No location, no contacts, no third-party trackers. Your saved stories live in your library so it works across your devices, and you can delete everything any time by reaching out to us. We never sell data, we never show ads, and we never let strangers into the app. Our narrator is a licensed premium voice we pay for — never a cloned voice of a real person. 1. Who we are
Tovi ("Tovi," "we," "us," or "our") is a bedtime-story app for children ages 2–12, operated by Neha Patil. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Tovi app and website (mytovi.app) collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Because Tovi is made for children, we designed it to be compliant with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the "children" provisions of the EU/UK GDPR (GDPR-K).

2. A note for parents
Tovi is intended to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian. Parent-only settings sit behind a soft gate. We rely on the parent or guardian to provide the small amount of information Tovi uses to personalise stories, and to consent to this Privacy Policy on their child's behalf. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to set up Tovi with you.
3. What we collect
Information you give us to personalise stories
- A first name (or a nickname you choose)
- An age band (2–3, 4–5, 6–8, or 9–12)
- A pronoun (girl or boy), used only so the story uses the right words
- The story ideas and prompts you type or speak, and the stories Tovi creates and saves to your library
Information collected automatically
- Basic technical and diagnostic information needed to run the app reliably — for example device type, operating-system version, app version, and crash logs. We use this only to keep Tovi working and to fix bugs.
What we do not collect: we do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, voice recordings beyond what is needed to create the requested story, biometric data, or any advertising identifiers. We do not run third-party advertising or behavioural-tracking SDKs anywhere in the app.
4. How we use information
We use the small amount of information above for one main purpose — to make and play the personalised stories you create — plus a few housekeeping tasks:
- To create, illustrate, narrate, and save personalised picture books that match the name, age, and pronouns in your profile.
- To keep your library available across your devices.
- To operate, secure, and improve the app, and to fix crashes and bugs.
- To respond to you when you contact support.
We do not use your information to show advertising, to build advertising profiles, or for any purpose unrelated to providing Tovi.
5. Voice input (custom stories)
If you choose to speak a story idea instead of typing it, the audio is used only to understand your request and create that story. It is not used to identify anyone, is not shared for advertising, and is not used to train voice clones. If you prefer, you can always type story ideas instead of speaking them.
6. How stories are made (our service providers)
To build a story, illustrate its pages, and read it aloud, Tovi relies on a small number of trusted service providers — for example secure cloud hosting, and AI text, image, and voice generation. These providers process information only to deliver their service to us, under agreements that require them to protect the data and prohibit them from using it for their own purposes. We do not sell your data to anyone, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers.
7. How long we keep it & how to delete it
We keep your profile and saved stories for as long as you use Tovi, so your library is there when you come back. You're always in control:
Deleting your data
Want your profile, individual stories, or all of your data removed? Just reach out to us at techadminbondrick@gmail.com and we'll take care of it. Sending the request from the email address you set up with helps us find your data quickly.
We delete everything within 30 days and email you a confirmation when it's done. Some minimal records may be retained where required by law, then deleted.
8. Security
We protect your information with industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit. No method of storage or transmission is ever 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your family's data and to limit who can access it.
9. Your rights & parental controls
As a parent or guardian, you can review the information in your profile, correct it, or ask us to delete it at any time (see Section 7). Depending on where you live, you may also have rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA — including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email techadminbondrick@gmail.com and we'll help.
We never ask for more information than Tovi needs to work, and using Tovi is never conditional on providing extra details.
10. International users
Tovi may process and store information on secure servers located in countries other than your own. Wherever your data is processed, we apply the protections described in this policy.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we'll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know inside the app. Your continued use of Tovi after an update means you accept the revised policy.
